Rodolfo Siviero, who died in 1983, bequeathed his rich art collection to the Tuscan Regional Government. He became famous for his work in recovering artworks that had been stolen by the Nazis during World War II. From 1946 he was the head of the special delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that succeeded in repatriating many masterpieces. In the elegant palazzina on Lungarno Serristori (designed by Poggi) which was his home for many years, we can admire a group of interesting pieces that range from the Etruscan-Roman period (pottery, figurines) to the thirteenth-fourteenth centuries (wooden statues, panel paintings), to the twentieth centuries (De Chirico, Manzù, Soffici) all in a setting that is typical of an art lover’s home.
