F.lli Piccini
This is a jewelry store with a long tradition. In fact, Fratelli Piccini was founded in 1903 by Pirro who, as a youth, had been apprenticed to a goldsmith to learn the trade. The business grew, as did the family, but it was Pirro's son, Armando who made it famous when he won a prize at the 1935 Biennale in Venice with his "14 engraved stones" that were donated to the city of Florence and are now on display in the Silver Museum. The Fratelli Piccini jewelry store was opened the following year, and in 1953 won the International Diamond Award. Today, it is Laura Piccini, Armando's niece and her daughter Elisa Tozzi, who earned a diploma from the G.I.A. in Los Angeles, who personally look after the firm's sophisticated and demanding Italian and international clientele.
