Paintings, prints and models offer a rich overview of changes that have taken place in Florence from the Renaissance to the end of the nineteenth century. Alongside of the large reproduction of the famous Pianta della Catena (1470) there are the Pianta Topografica by Stefano Buonsignori (1594) and the lunettes painted by Justus Utens showing the Medici villas (1599). There are also fine eighteenth century vedute by Zocchi and pictures of nineteenth century Florence. This section of the museum also includes images of how Florence developed from the times of the first Roman settlements.
