  Antonio Gatto (Hat cat)
Piazza de' Pitti, 5, 50125 Firenze, Italia
  S. Trinita Bridge
Ponte Santa Trìnita, Via de' Tornabuoni, 50123 Firenze, Italia
The first bridge (1252) was built of wood; it collapsed several times and was rebuilt in stone. The bridge as we see it today was designed by Ammannati who turned to Michelangelo for advice and inspiration for the three arches. The bridge was destroyed by the retreating Germans on 4 August 1944 and was rebuilt “where it was, the way it was” in 1958. The Ponte Santa Trinita/Via Maggio area was part of the “solemn itinerary” that the grand duke’s retinue followed from the seat of government (Palazzo Vecchio) to the Palazzo Pitti, the Medici residence.

  Atelier Lungarno (Rina Milano)
Lungarno Guicciardini 7r
Located on the left bank of the Arno, just a short walk from Ponte S. Trinita, this is the showroom and workshop created by Rina Milano who came to Florence from Calabria. Here, she earned her degree in Classics but always nurtured a passion for high fashion and the great designers (with Karl Lagerfeld at the top of her list) whose creations she admired in the city’s fabulous boutiques. The passion became her life work when in 1984 she opened her first shop. Here she designs and makes elegant and exceptionally beautiful clothes that have all her unmistakable imprint and – on request – she will later alter and update with a touch of fantasy.
