Housed in the southern Rondò of Palazzo Pitti is an interesting collection of coaches and carriages – for ordinary use, parades and travel – dating from the Lorraine and Savoia periods. The most remarkable vehicles are the lavishly decorated coaches that belonged to Ferdinando II, King of Naples and Ferdinando III of Lorraine (1818). The museum also features many interesting harnesses and trappings.
